Instructor in the Art of Drumming by Sanford Augustus Moeller, better known as simply “The Moeller Book” has essentially been continuously sold since 1925. Unfortunately, in 1929 Ludwig & Ludwig revised the book, removing around 83 pages of material. This material has never been fully reinstated. The “other” currently available edition is still missing 79 of those original 174 pages.

My Unabridged and Annotated edition returns Moeller’s master work to its original glory! ALL 174 ORIGINAL PAGES. Unrevised and uncut. All I have done is add some informational annotations for background, context, and fact checking. Nothing has been changed or removed from Moeller’s first printing. This is the book Moeller intended, not just 55% of the book — like you get from the other guys.

Included are many rudiments, instruction on the famous “Moeller Technique,” also known as the “Moeller Stroke” or “Moeller Method,” solos, quicksteps, the Camp Duty, exercises, and discussion of various drum topics. Also includes instruction for the fife and bugle.

No drummer’s library is complete without the Moeller book. It is as applicable to drum technique today as it was when it was first published. This is the method that Jim Chapin, Gene Krupa, and William Ludwig learned and spent their lives reteaching. No Moeller book has been as complete as this one since the 1920s. This is the definitive version… without hunting down and paying a ton for the first edition.
